Sunday's Vitamin: Two more mistakes!

Last week, we have discussed 2 important time management mistakes, that can lead us to wasting our time … and life.
This week we would talk about another 2 mistakes. Please try to avoid them, to get the best out of your time … and life.
Mistake number 3: Always saying "Yes".
This problem occurs when you say "Yes" to almost any request, without considering first the importance of such task and how much work does it need.
Always saying "Yes" will lead you to a feeling of overload & stress, and to losing your most important tasks & priorities.
What is the solution?
1- Always be aware of your priorities; the things that should be done to reach your most important goals.
2- Before you accept any request, learn to think about its importance relative to the things you are planning to do on that day, and then decide if the task can be postponed to a more suitable time, delegated to other person, or cancelled for all.

Mistake number 4: Procrastination (بعدين، لما أفضى، لما أروق، ...).

Procrastination (التسويف) is the opposite of the previous mistake. It is to postpone an important heavy task, by making yourself busy with less important easy tasks.
For example: I have an important report that should be sent to my manager by the end of the week, but everyday, I postpone working on it, waiting for mind clarity or fearing from its difficulty, filling my time with trivial work, until the last day of the week comes, where I would be highly stressed to finish the needed report.
What is the solution?
1- Again, know your priorities and put in your mind the importance of the task and the bad consequences of not doing it on time.
2- Break down any large task into smaller steps that can be finished in 1 or 2 hours, so that you are more willing to start, and less fearful from the task complexity or difficulty.
3- Believe in the nice idea stated by Goethe (the German poet & writer):
“Just begin, and the mind grows heated; continue, and the task will be completed”.

(احرص على ما ينفعك واستعن بالله ولا تعجز)

Sunday's Vitamin: Don't fall in those mistakes!

In today's life, we are continuously running to reach a variety of goals, to accomplish diverse tasks & to fulfill different responsibilities. All of this puts a huge pressure on our time and on how we use it.
However, our time is a fixed resource; we can't buy more hours for our days, nor save some days to use them at the end of a stressful week!
That is why it is important to improve the way we utilize this valuable fixed resource (time) & work to get the best out of it.
In this couple of weeks we would discuss some common time management mistakes, through which we waste our time… and life.
Try to correct these mistakes, and you would significantly increase your productivity & efficiency.
Mistake number 1: Keeping too many things in your head.
A common mistake is trying to use your memory to save all the things you need to do through your day or week. This mistake will lead you to some problems:
    - A continuous feeling of overload & anxiety.
    - Inability to fully focus on a single task.
    - Sure, you will forget some important things, or remember them in the last minute!
What is the solution?
Write your goals & things to do down. This will enable you to organize your thinking and to work efficiently on various projects & tasks, without feeling that ugly mental overload.
Mistake number 2: Doing whatever grabs your attention first.
Instead of carefully selecting what to do or where to go next, based on the importance of the task, we usually do what jumps into our minds first, what is requested from us first, or what our mood tells us to do!
The problem is that those urgent things are not always important, and if we continuously run after these matters, we would have no time for the really important things that would truly improve our business & our life.
What is the solution?
Always plan to use your time according to the importance of the task, not according to the urgency of the task.
Try to be continually aware about your priorities, that truly help you achieve your most valuable personal & professional goals... AND DO THEM FIRST.

فتزوّد منى فإني إذا مضيت لا أعود إلى يوم القيامة)

Sunday's Vitamin: Everyday, Run or Hide!

Everyday life sends us some challenges & new experiences
• Look at these challenges as windows of opportunity; to learn, develop your character & improve your business or your life.
RUN into those windows, feel the fear, face the difficulties, and your life will be bigger.
HIDE from those windows, and your life will be stagnant & even smaller.
• Take care, your destiny would be defined by your choices (RUN or HIDE), because your daily small choices, brings you giant future consequences.
And always put in your mind,
that the biggest failure & the biggest regret
is the failure to try & take risks

Sunday's Vitamin: What about your 2014 goals?

7 months have passed from 2014
So what about your goals for this year?!
Are you walking in the way of achieving them?
Have you succeeded in overcoming the obstacles that faced you?
Are you still motivated to reach your aims?
OR, you already don't have clear goals for the year!!
Whatever your situation is, I want to share with you some ideas
about the importance of having clear goals or purposes
- When you are inspired by a great purpose or extraordinary project, this boosts your mind & capabilities in every direction, your dormant skills become alive, better opportunities will appear around you, and even you move toward being a greater person.
- So please, focus and get committed to reach your goals.
- If you faced some failures, put in your mind that negative experiences are opportunities to learn more (no mistakes … only lessons!).
Finally, expect the best and you will be astonished about the results
